President Pierre dinged the bell at 12:17.  The opening prayer was given by Elaine Murphy.  We then sat down to our meal which was a delicious buffet as has been the norm.

TABLE TALK:  The table talk consisted of normal, every day topics.  No gossip, (shucks); no dirt, (double shucks); just very good conversation with very nice fellow Kiwanians.

50/50 RAFFLE:    The raffle was won by Bob Golnick, who remarked that now he can get gas. (Always happy to help out a fellow Kiwanian, Bob)

GUESTS:  Our Guests today were the Key clubbers from our two High Schools.  From Maloney High School we had a Brother and Sister act; Ben and Liesel Fraser and from Platt High School we had Hilary Rolstone and Alyson Battista.  Also gracing our presence was Bob Gollnick’s better half, Sandy.

BIRTHDAYS AND ANNIVERSARIES: We had no Birthdays or Anniversaries.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:  Maureen Bilger thanked June for sending reminder notices about bringing diapers and donations for Chrysalis; President Pierre announced the next Board Meeting will be held at his home on Wednesday, February 3rd. The Midwinter Conference will be held in Massachusetts on March 5th - March 7th.  The International Convention for Kiwanians will be held in Las Vegas on June 24 - 27th.

HAPPY DOLLARS:  Bob Golnick for winning the 50/50 and for sending out the 1040 returns; Sandy Golnick for Lloyd for fixing a lost front tooth (the “Tooth Fairy” was very good), Son Chris going back to college and also for him getting five 5 A’s and 3 B’s, for an Aunt who passed away on New Year’s Day (that was an unhappy dollar); Eileen for son Ty selling tickets for a Pancake Breakfast, kids wrote letters to Kiwanis, some Key Clubbers who were in “Sound of Music; Doc Roc for Key Clubbers going to his Alma Mater, Cataract Surgery, for Rhudean Raye and the Dr. Martin Luther King Breakfast; Doreen Roddy talked to Jim Gamble and said he is doing good; President Elect, Carol read some thank you letters for donations, and last, but not least, President Pierre said Mr. Zajac, who was our speaker today, saw Maureen Bilger at the Hospital.

PROGRAM:  Our Speaker today was Mr. Joseph Zajac, Chair of the Meriden Linear Trail of Meriden, Conn. who gave a very interesting presentation of the Linear Trail.  There was a great deal of interest shown in this presentation proven by the amount of questions that were asked.

With no further business to come before the membership, President Pierre dinged the dong at 1:28. --- Alta
